& Same goes for ‘small penis vs. big dick energy’ and every other joke we make that connects our quality as people to our bodies.
You want to permanently free people from the pressure to look a certain way?
Stop assigning value to beauty full stop. Stop calling people you hate ugly. Stop making jokes about the bodies of people you dislike.
Relatedly: How Zuckerberg "looks like an android", which often seems to be coded as anti-autism. Zuckerberg is a POS but his ability to relay facial expression really has nothing to do with it.
@queeranarchism I'm glad I wasn't the only one who found the big dick energy very dodgy... It also seems kinda sexist and rude to trans people to me? Associating confidence and "goodness" with big dicks is a pretty status quo thing to do. Many trans guys will have "small dicks" after metoidioplasty or just HRT and the amount of "big dick good" and "small dick haha funny" that you see every day is something shitty that many trans guys will have to deal with.
@Some_Person yeah, I was also thinking of how incredibly shitty that is to trans people. Plus people with a micropenis, or just any person with a small penis.
Like, even if you could somehow magically only insult the penises of cis men, WHY? all that does is spread misery and fuel the insecurities behind toxic masculinity. Literally no one wins.
@queeranarchism I've seen a lot of that type of stuff online. People see that silly jokes about white people not being able to dance are ok, and assume that anything making fun of a priviledged group is ok, even if the insults have very problematic undertones. I've seen a lot of people making fun of straight women with a very misogynistic undertone, like making fun of them for liking feminine guys and being like "what do you think he'll do, top you?" and thinking it's all good because they're straight. Same goes for making fun of small dicks, it's just upholding the prevelent misogynistic views and toxic masculinity. I used to go on tumblr a lot (before terfs attacked my blog) and the lack of small dick positivity really bothered me, literally the most positivity I saw was really weird fetish porn (which isn't really great tbh). And all the "big dick energy" posts just made me feel like there's just no hope for anyone to be positive about bodies like that.
To be honest I am not sure how 'don't joke about billionaire dick sizes' helps with not being reminded of the existence of dicks.
I mean, there will still be mentions of the existence of genitals in our vocabulary. Hopefully primarily positive mentions of the existence of genitals.
@queeranarchism Plus, I feel like if all you can do is attack their appearance then you're not really trying to interrogate their ideas and why they're so bad/harmful, or tell others about it.
And that way there's scope to also attack billionaires who do meet conventional standards of beauty.
