I don't know all of the details, but the gist is that he's been refusing to own his mistakes, he's refusing to do any emotional labor, and he's refusing to take any criticism of this site.
He's been calling those criticisms "abuse". And telling people that if we don't like the way he runs things, we should just leave instead of trying to make it better.
@ThisQueerBashesBack there's the glitch.soc fork.... i know there are several instances that use that besides glitch.social (sleeping.town, scifi.fyi, awoo.space)
maybe look into moving to one of those? (i have a backup on sleeping.town so i can send you an invite there if you want!)
I'm more than happy with my instance! There's great folks here. The issue is Gargron himself, and staying here feels like giving him a pass to continue his gross behaviour.
@ThisQueerBashesBack that's true. i don't like how he acted about this either, but i like the people i know here and the idea of being on a non-corporate social media enough to stay unless a better activitypub alternative appears.
