moving instances
so as time goes on i have started to legitimately dislike this instance more and more because it seems like progressively more fascistic and self-absorbed people have adopted the space for self-gain.
after talking to another person and realising that I am not alone in thinking this instance went from 80-20 to 50-50 in terms of how many shitheads there are I've decided to move instances and full-force hurl follows at the people I get on with here
was cool while it lasted tho
looking for art recs
so
i
noticed i only follow artists in a certain mid-range of popularity
and i would love some art recs for artists who have a twitter presence and not a lot of popularity
i like interacting on twitter despite the massive taboo behind it and i also have a preference queer/trans artists so if anyone can help with that i would be very appreciative : )
I have an extremely low amount of experience encountering people who primarily use It pronouns and I would love to change that or at the very least hear what led to the discovered comfort with those pronouns from someone's personal experience.
BIG
QUESTION
FOR ANYONE IN THIS INSTANCE OR ANYONE WHO FOLLOWS ME OR ANYONE WHO SEES THIS POST AT ALL
I was talking with some friends about pronouns and identity and I said "I wish I understood the thoughts and feelings behind It/Its pronouns"
Realising I'm super fucking ignorant to an entire pronoun identity right now and I would really like to know more, if you know someone who primarily uses these pronouns who would be willing to explain their experiences to me please please please DM me!
Refining my previous post
overstepped my boundaries, didn't realise that for a bit because i was stubborn, that's my bad
but also still lol @ getting blocked by the person who blocks everyone that doesn't 100% agree with them within 3 posts
Refining my previous post
My original post came from a very white-centred view where I was considering my perspective, and doing my best to consider a perspective I quite frankly can't and have no right trying to.
I will still say white people have a duty to the victims of institutional racism to approach the topic of dismantling those institutions in as constructive a way as possible. That said, the lack of desire from PoC to coddle white people is something I understand as best as I can.
Refining my previous post
So after the patient explanation from another person (who i won't tag because that would probably be annoying) I see a fault in how I approached the topic of racism earlier.
I still stand by the core of my belief but not in how I addressed or communicated it, I think there's a level of satisfaction PoC get from fucking off white people that I will personally never get in my lifetime, but considering that my original post seems extremely ignorant at best. I apologise.
when you attempt to erase the rights of individual people to feel poorly, to suffer because of or to feel ashamed of their identities, *specifically because you don't like those identities*
can u guess what that is called
can u
bc i would love 2 kno
theres a word but i cant think of what it is....
hmmm......................
hot take that is literally a common understanding of theory and semantics:
erasure of personal experiences is authoritarian. this is immutable fact.
you're succeeding at being super woke until your views of erasure become institution
easiest way to avoid that is to simply not hold a petty, bitter and outright hostile view of sociopolitical dynamics
alternatively, you can continue to hold an irreverence for individuals and simultaneous understanding of their specific plights as human beings
hot take that is literally a common understanding of theory and semantics:
u r quite literally able and should admit that something exists but its negative effect is next-to-none and personal at worst
white people in western civilisation cannot suffer from institutional effects of racism, they *can* suffer from personal racism, but because they make up such a population majority that effect is anecdotal at best and communal at worst
