@NextJaco this. Ignore the heroic fantasy of agency. That's bologna. If someone feels they require a weapon of lethal force and which requires no particular skill to employ adequately, the response should not be to infantilize ("you'll hurt yourself!") or attempt to further restrict rights. The response ought to be aimed toward making society less terrifying. Until then, nah. Oppressed folks get a free pass to arms and armor of any kind from me.

I don't really like or believe the good guy with a gun narrative, it kind of just mythologizes self defense. I will say though that when queer people are being attacked, being able to fight back is infinitely better than waiting on a police force that might just also kill us.
